1. Import Trend

 ○ According to Indonesian Custom Tariffs Book, blower is categorized under HS code 8414.80 which is described as hoods having a maximum horizontal side exceeding 120cm. It is the subcode for HS 8414 described as air or vacuum pumps, air or other gas compressors and fans: ventilating or recycling hoods incorporating a fan, whether or not fitted with filters.

 ○ In the past five years, import trend of HS Code 8414.80 is positive overall. In 2009 imports of HS Code 8414.80 sank at about 19% in terms of weight. This is due to the global economic crisis in 2009 which also affected Indonesia. However in the next year, Indonesian economy recovers rapidly and import resumes its growth although in small increments. In 2011, imports grew at 1.22% and in 2012 grew at 1.27% in terms of value in USD.

2. Import Duty

 ○ Due to the ASEAN-Korea Free Trade Area Agreement, goods under HS Code 8414.80 are subject to 0% import duty from Korea to Indonesia. In addition to that, goods are also subject to 10% VAT.

3. Retail Price & Distribution Channel

 ○ Prices vary depending on the quality, origin and capacity. Retail price of blowers range from Rp 1,500,000 for the smallest capacity to Rp 30,000,000 for the largest capacity from a trader company. Price can also exceed Rp 30,000,000 for American or European products. Keep in mind the conversion rate of 1 USD (US Dollar) equals to 9745 IDR (Indonesian Rupiah).

 ○ Some companies listed in the buyer search are importers that also act as distributors for the product. There are also traders such as PD. Mandiri Sejahtera that takes products from the sole agent of the product to sell it for retail.
