□ 개요

○ 연간 매출액 기준 이집트 100대 기업 분석결과, 제조업은 식품, 시멘트, 제약 업종 비중이 높았으며 서비스업은 은행, 부동산 개발 비중이 높게 나타났음.

○ 이집트 100대 대기업의 특징으로 산업구조가 다변화되지 못하고 일부 업종에만 치우쳐져 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 시멘트, 섬유, 비료, 밀가루 등 국가 기간산업 위주의 업종이 대부분을 차지하고 있음.

○ 이에 비해 IT 및 전자제품 제조분야에서는 대기업의 비중이 높지 않아 미래 산업에 대한 성장 동력이 부족한 것으로 나타났음.

□ 100대 기업 업종별 특징

○ 100대 기업 중 5개 이상 기업이 있는 업종은 식품(12개), 은행(12개), 시멘트(9개), 제약(8개), 부동산개발(7개), 건설엔지니어링(6개), 섬유(6개)로 나타났음.

○ 식품분야에 대기업이 많은 이유로는 밀가루와 설탕제도 대규모 기업이 많기 때문이며 전통적 이집트 제조 강세 업종인 시멘트, 제약, 섬유 기업도 많이 분포돼 있음.

○ 최근 이집트의 건설 붐을 반영하듯 부동산 개발 회사 및 건설엔지니어링 기업도 각 6개씩 100대기업 리스트에 포함됐음.
