- SHTP is among the top 5 focal projects of Hochiminh City of the 2006-2010 period

- SHTP is developed by the State Budget. It has received special support from the central and Hochiminh City local governments

- The Park is set up and developed in order to attract foreign and local investment into hi-techindustries

- The most noticeable landmark of SHTP is Intel’s decision to invest into the Park with the project valued at US$ 1 billion on a piece of land of 15.2 ha (licensed in 2006)

- Another noticeable point is that tenants in the Park can lease land up to 50 years counting from the time they are granted investment certificates while in other export processing zones and industrial parks, tenants can only lease land up to 50 years counting from the time when infrastructure developers of the EPZs/IPs are granted licenses
