□ 호주의 풍력 에너지 이용 현황

 

 ○ 풍력에 의한 전력생산은 호주 전체 전력 생산의 0.7%를 차지

 

 ○ 연평균 전력생산은 2500GWh로 추산됨(자료원 : Auswind).

 

 ○ 현재 운영 중인 풍력발전소는 70곳이며, 남호주주(South Australia)에 호주 전체 풍력발전시설의 51%가 위치하고 있음.

 

□ 재생 에너지에 의한 전력 생산

 

○ 호주 전체 전력 생산에서 재생 에너지가 차지하는 비중은 약 7.6%임

  - 이 중 수력이 6.4%로 절대적인 비중을 차지하고 있으며 풍력은 0.7%를 차지함.

 

  

 ○ 2020년에는 재생에너지의 비중이 8.5%로 높아질 전망이며, 수력의 비중이 낮아지는 반면, 풍력의 비중은 1.3%까지 높아질 것으로 전망됨.

□ 풍력 프로젝트 현황

 

 ○ 2008년 기준 총 48개 풍력 프로젝트가 진행 중이며, 이 중 진행단계(착공 또는 최종검토)단계에 있는 프로젝트는 7개임.

 

 ○ 이 같은 프로젝트 계획에도 불구하고 금융위기 이후 호주 프로젝트 시장이 크게 위축되고 있는바 풍력 프로젝트도 타격을 받을 것으로 예상됨.

  - 특히 검토 단계(타당성 조사 또는 기초 조사)에서 진행단계로 이행하는 프로젝트의 수가 급격히 감소한 바 자금조달상 어려움 및 투자심리 감소를 반영하고 있음.

□ 정부 관련 정책

 

 ○ 풍력 발전 시설에 대한 정부의 직접적인 보조는 없으며 풍력협회(AUSWIND)는 이같은 점을 비판하고 있음.

  - 단, 대형 전력회사가 풍력시설에 의해 전력을 조달할 경우 받게 되는 간접적이 수혜는 존재함.

 ○ 풍력발전분야에서 가장 두각을 나타내고 있는 주요 기업들의 정보를 아래에 소개함.
